Support Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre
Thank you for considering a gift to the non-profit Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre!
The Interpretive Centre gratefully accepts all donations in support of the many programs and activities we offer. Our award winning facility includes specimen collections, monitoring projects, exhibits and environmental educational programs which are supported by the generosity of our members, donors and major sponsors.
Your support ensures that we have the financial means to reinforce our mandate to foster public awareness and knowledge of the inherent values of wetlands and associated ecosystems and to encourage public support for their conservation through innovative education and outreach programs.
Every gift is important and goes a long way towards ensuring the continuation of the top-quality programs we offer visitors.
There are several ways to support the Interpretive Centre with a donation:
In Memoriam
Cherish the memory of a loved one who has passed away. A sympathy card can be sent to the family or friend you designate.
In Honour
Celebrate a special occasion in the life of a family member, friend or colleague. A personalized card can be sent to the honouree on your behalf.
If you are interested in a Memorial/Celebration donations, you may want to consider:
Tree Donation
The Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre currently has a Memorial/Celebration Tree program for family and friends considering making a donation in memory or on behalf of a relative or friend.
For a donation of $100 or cumulative donations totaling $100, a previously planted cottonwood tree, a native, will be commemorated to an individual. If preferred, a new specimen tree can be planted during the annual planting time. The trees are located in the Cottonwood Grove and also on the picnic knoll, which are in close proximity of the Oak Hammock Marsh Conservation Centre. The tree itself is not marked and no plaque is placed at the tree to maintain the integrity of the natural prairie landscape. The tree is recognized as the individual's memorial tree on a map located in the Centre.
If for some reason the tree ceases to survive, (eg: felled by a beaver), a replacement tree will be planted and dedicated to the individual.
Picnic Table Donation
The Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre currently has a Memorial/Celebration Picnic Table program for family and friends considering making a donation in memory or on behalf of a relative or friend.
For a donation of $350 or cumulative donations totaling $350, a metal frame and wood picnic table will be purchased and commemorated to the individual. The picnic tables are located on the picnic knoll, which is in close proximity of the Oak Hammock Marsh Conservation Centre.
The table itself will be marked with an engraved plaque recognizing the individual’s memorial table.
